power steering pulley ?'s and doing an little work on the 65 (pics)

(Changed the title a little as I guess I'll just make this my semi build thread)

Hi guys, first post in the slick forum. I've been doing a mini resto on the 65 and I'm adding pwr steering, pwr (front disk conversion) brakes. My problem / question is that I can't find a double pulley set-up to bolt onto the harmonic balancer for the 240 6 cyl. I can find plenty for a 300 6 cly with intergrated double pulley's but I'm not sure if the 300 and 240 balancers are the same and or if using a 300 balancer on the 240 will throw off the crank balance. I can fabricate one but bolt on is much easier, any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a few pics of my truck and the progress, big thanks goes out to my buddy brooksvillegeorge for the help, as well as, FTE for all the great info you guys share!

My understanding is that the sixes are internally balanced and that is just a vibration damper. So it should be fine. Someone else should be able to chime in and confirm that though.

It has 96,000 original miles, new short block installed by Ford in the mid 80's. The truck is only on it's 4th owner.

John, I'm just lucky enough to have friends that have a lift, if the 240 ever lets go then I'll definately swap in a 300 but it runs so good now can't justify it. I'm trying to keep it looking as original as I can with a few modern upgrades..

BMW,

I've heard this from someone else too but havn't been able to confirm. I'm going to pick up a double lower balancer and a double water pump pulley from a 300 and have them on hand until I can confirm or I'll try em and see what happens.

Anyway, a little history on the truck. I first saw and knew of this truck during high school 83-86, as my high school Architect teacher was using it as his daily driver. He kept it well maintained and I even seriviced it during auto shop class. He got the truck about 1973 from his uncles widow who lived in Tenn. When his uncle died several years earlier he actually tried to buy it from her then but she refused to sell it and kept in a barn for another 4-5 years. When she finally got it out to drive, she fell out of it and broke her arm, called him and told him to come get it. My ex-teacher finally sold it to a local couple in 2002, they drove it for then next 6 years and did absolutely no maintenance! it sat for about a year and a half until my dad happened to see it for sale, he knew the owners so shortly thereafter it had a new home and a new lease on life... The only things I did to it prior to this rebuild was plugs, points and bled the brakes. It wasn't safe to drive however, the clutch chattered and slipped and it took both feet to stop thus the reason behind the upgrades. I also have all five original rims and hubcaps for it as well. Anyway, we're planning on putting the eniging back in on Saturday and I will gets some pics up of the progress.

The original color was Tropical Turquoise but it was repainted in the 80's to what I believe was a Forrest Green or something close to it.
