Hey all can yall help me . I have a 78 f250 with 6.6 400. cranked it up on sunday drove 10 miles put some gas in it .drove back home 10 miles parked it ran great the whole time. Went back out an hour later and she wouldnt start . I have to pump the gas like crazy to get it start . it wont idle, it goes to 700rpms back down to about 400rpms and then keeps dropping until it dies. I have put a new d-cap ,rotor, fuel filter , checked all vacum lines ,choke is not sticking ,The brain is new,any tips or help would be great . Thanks alot this is baby I call her Gerti and she needs some help Thanks Mark

If all you did was put in gas and go back home, maybe you got some bad gas. You might want to drop the tank and clean it out. then put in some fresh gas from a different station. Just a WAG though. have you checked fuel psi?

Well i thought maybe bad gas But, I have 2 tanks so I switched the the back tank which still had about a half tank and still same problem and that gas is from a different station . But i guess it still could have jacked up my carb with some bad gas might pull of carb and rebuild just for kicks. thanks mark

did your fuel pressure drop? I had a 76 f100 and I would lose pressure and the truck would stall replaced the fuel pump. Also on my new 84 I have to put the best unleaded(premuim, plus, whatever the gas station calls it). Because anything else likes clogs my valves on the carb and wont feed. my baby likes the best lol.
