Hey guys, I don't know anything about this model of truck, so I thought I'd see what you all had to say about it. It belongs to my uncle and is wasting away out in his field. If I recall it was bought new by a family member. The front fenders are dented, the hood is missing, and the bed floor is rusted out but really I think the body is pretty clean for the situation it's in. What years did they make the unibody? Can you tell the exact year by these pics? I'm assuming there's still a seperate frame under there and it's not truly a unibody in the way that cars are?
The Uni's were made from 61-63. Pic's didn't show up on your post. Each year had a different styled grill. If you will post the info on the Warranty Tag on the glove box or the door edge (depending on year) someone can decipher it for you.
The only thing rare on that truck is the spare tire holder in the bed.
Otherwise its a parts truck. Sitting on grass/dirt really does wonders for the torque box and other floor areas. As it sits its about a hundred buck truck.
Well atleast in my opinion its a short bed; I truely only beleive something is rare in the eyes of the beholder; Yes there was only 3 years of Uni's & there's a reason for that.
The big window shorties is more popular than standard cab; but again rare only in the eye of the beholder.
Hopefully your uncle will allow you to have that truck; there is potential to restore it.
To bad your in my blood line I would be asking for it.
After I could see the pictures, I was thinking that although the grill is indeed a 63 grill, it doesn't mean the truck is a 63 model. These things are frequently changed.
61 to 63 uni or 64 to 66 in argentina and other points in south america and Kiwi land.
Customizers liked to cut the unis *** off and use them sideways for a frenched tail light look.
With the ahh, patina on the grille and surrounding remnants it would be a good guess it is a 63. The warranty plate will be on the drivers door if it is a 63.

Uni Body is a mis-nomer. Ford called it a Unit Body or Integral Body.
Both these terms mean the pickup bed is integral with the cab.
Thanks for the info. I have no plans to restore it, I can't even find time and shop space to get my '78 back together. Not to mention all the Bmw's... Mostly I guess I was wondering if I should feel bad about this things rusting away in a field, looks like not so I'll let it be. It's a cool body though, I can't remember ever seeing one.
Ha, yeah that's not the engine from the truck. There's still an engine in the front, not much left of it.

I don't know how you'd do that, they don't even have a separate frame. But I was thinking since it has no axles or much else, it would be ideal to put onto some newer chassis.
