My Ex. will be celebrating its 3rd birthday next month. I must decide if I want to buy a $1,195 extended warranty. It will give me 4 more years and 75,000 miles. It is the Ford Premium Plan and covers everything with a $50 deductible.
I would sure appreciate some feed back as to if this is worth the investment ?
The only thing I have had done to my Ex is have the front rotors turned a couple months ago due to a shimmy.
I'm pondering the same thing. My '01 Ex is at 33k, and I'm considering purchasing Ford coverage that will carry me to 7 yrs/100k miles.
I've only owned cars, an Expedition 2wd Eddie Bauer, and now this. My first 4wd truck.
From others, what things tend to break in high mileage Excursions with V-10 & 4x4. My truck hasn't had a hiccup since I owned it, and has been well maintained. Any high dollar surprises likely? Seems that the trucks hold up pretty well.
Basically I'm looking at a $1900 gamble (warranty vs. major repair over the next few years).

BUY IT! BUY IT! BUY IT! That price is so far BELOW dealer cost that someone at the dealer made a BIG mistake. If they'll honor that price (my bet is they won't), you've got the buy of the year. If you don't believe me, call a few other Ford dealers in your area and ask for a price quote. You did say 7 year/ 75,000 mile PremiumCare with $50 deductible, right? ("4 more years" on top of the original warranty is 7 years from in-service date. That's how all Ford warranties are sold when you're still within the original 3/ 36 warranty period.)
