Remove bolts to frame (cut if rusted) disconnect fuel filler/vent hoses. Disconnect electrical. Lift bed off with a handfull of guys or equipment. Should take 2 hours total??

I was wondering how hard it is to get the bed off of a 79 F150 supercab 4x4 that has never been removed and is rusty. It has duel tanks?

Lots of PB Blaster and lots more patients. The old bolts are a carriage style bolt and will turn in the sheet metal of the bed quite easily. There are new bolts kits available aftermarket and at a good hardware store. You will probably find the easiest way will be to run the mid-ship tank empty and then drop it out. Perfect time to clean it up and take care of any issues there.
