RBP rim problems

Is there anyone else having issues with their chrome RBP rims corroding and pitting? I saved up my deployment money from my last trip to Iraq and bought what I thought was a great set of high dollar rims. I received these in September of 2009 and have only put about 3,000 miles on them as was deployed again for a short trip back to Iraq. I live in Tennessee so constant salt on the roads is not really an issue. I have only washed my wheels at the local carwash using soap with the brush and then rinse cycle. One rim is not too bad but the other 3 look like the front bumper on a 55 Chevy (because Fords don’t rust right?). The rest of my factory Ford chrome looks great even the chrome steps right behind the tires so I am scratching my head. I am guessing that the problem is the chrome is just too thin. So if you have chrome RPB rims go clean them off and let me know if it’s just me and my rims that were made on Friday at 5 o’clock. I feel like I paid top dollar for cheep crap.

Any salt on the roads will destroy chrome wheels! Doesn't have to be alot but if you have driven on it only once then the damage has been done. I always put a thick coating of wax before hitting the salted roads, only one time I left my truck in UT for my dad to drive for a couple of months during winter season and he didn't rinse off or even think about the chrome wheels. Needless to say when I got back up their all 4 were pitted. Mfr. has probably stated in the warranty that damage from exposure to salt (specifically) is not covered.

I took the rims back and insisted the shop take them back and give me a different set. Later Lexani, the parent company for RBP, refused to warranty them for the shop because they got break dust on them. It was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. The shop call me and told me about the warranty rejection and I told them not to stock crappy rims, even if they are high dollar trendy crap. Tell your buds to stay away from RBP and lexani.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
