300 Carb mounts / studs
I have Carter 1brl on my 300 engine with an after market intake manifold, I replaced the old intake manifold (CRACKED) with another one but the carb did not fit on the studs, they happened to be a little shorter in space, over sized the bolt holes on the carb and tha carb fits.
So what type carbs would go on my 300 intake manifold?.
Thanks for your help

Sometime along the way, 1970's or 1980's (?), the spacing between the two mounting studs did change. It is not at all unusual to find the mounting holes of a rebuilt carburetor slotted [elongated] to facilitate mounting on either an earlier intake manifold or the later style.
Like AbandonedBronco, I too am interested in what type of one barrel after market
replacement manifold you found. Years ago, Edelbrock manufactured one. They are rare and one which looked like new sold for approximately $280, a few months ago on E-bay.
Not many people replace the original carburetor with another one barrel. Some have used adapters and mounted a two barrel to the original intake. Try searching for a recent post where one of the forum members installed a 2 barrel Weber carburetor using an adapter. The kit [carburetor, adapter, linkage and air filter] was described as being for a Jeep with the 258 cubic inch engine [inline six] and I believe can be found @ REDLINE - Serving the U.S., Canada, Central and South America for over 30 years
The new intake manifold (used from ebay), is an OEM with the P/N: C5AE-9425.
Carb mount studs measures between stud centers 2.677 in, it is the short spacing studs.
