Did you get an offical traffic accident report???? Sounds like you really trust this developer.
They already paid, they worked it out between the body shop and themselves where th body shop sent them the bill. I was surprised too, but it all worked out.

It HAD the man step... the hardware was obviously fine inside, so they swapped into a new shell for me. Every tailgate for these truck can accept the man step hardware.

I guess I always look at my truck as a tool yeah I like it to look good but if that was all that was wrong with the tailgate I wold leave it on there and put the money the insurance company was going to pay out for the repair or replacement towards the truck like by adding locker or new tires.
No damage to the internals at all... I normally would agree with you about the truck being a tool and so forth, but this is the nicest truck I have ever owned and it is my intention to not lose any value on it for some time... I been through that too many times already.

I dont make it to NYC, but I do make it out to Allentown, PA (North/North East of Philly). One guy sent me a PM about the tailgate already, PM me or email me (email should be listed) and maybe we can work something out if he ends up not wanting it. FYI it is just the shell, i dont know if the mounting hardware is on it either. Im taking pics tonight.

They are tools. Expensive ones. And I take care of all my tools. While small dents may not make a truck any less useful, they lower the value and if I ever needed to get out from under a truck I would want it to fetch top dollar. Dents just show a lack of care by an owner, and raises red flags to potential buyers. If you won't fix a dent, it is probably you don't change the oil on schedule either. Not saying you don't, just saying it is a reasonable conclusion. As they get older, and value declines, this naturally becomes less important.

Yeah I agree, however in my case I spend so much money properly servicing my truck, that I dont have the money to spend on the cosmetic work that it needs from actually using it to get work done. Everything is just so expensive but I do my best to make sure my truck is operating properly at the very least and she gets washed & waxed every week.

Oh, alright. There's a shot I may be heading to Allentown this Saturday, if for some reason you'd be going there this weekend. Let me know.
