F800 problems with power
Hi, I'm responsible for keeping our trucks running. Unfortunately I don't uinderstand diesels. Got a problem, I have a F800 that dies in 3rd and fourth gear,no power, as if it isn't getting any fuel. Changed the fuel filter, cleaned the air filters. As you see ,I'm not very specialized but would like someone to point me in the right direction. Any takers?????

Yes what year.. Most likely fuel. I r diesel mechanic... What engine? Most likely fuel pump issues. Most diesel trucks have a Lift pump in the tank which can and will provide enough fuel for the engine to run. However there is also a main f/o pump on the engine that provides the high pressure needed for the engine to run properly!!! I have seen many diesels capable of running on the lift pump alone, this sounds like your problem...
