2002 Ex , Yes the code for this is under the dash behind the radio. black box. use the mirror and a flash light and you got it. tried mine and it worked like a charm. takes about 2 min. and that's it. forget paying a dealer. i had the used car dealer call and ask me where to find it. i bought mine 7 years ago with 19000miles on it and now it's got 245000 on it. would not take 20000 for it now or any time in the future.

are you sure you laying down in the floor board and looking up toward the back of the radio. it will be a black box. the numbers are not on the side facing the carpet you will have to reach up with a mirror and shine a flash light there and you will see the numbers, there bigger than what's on your picture. you have to put the mirror on the back side of the box to reflect the numbers you can't see them any other way. i searched every where looking at numbers and trying them to but that is where there at. i didn't take any dash panels off just got my big head under there with a flash light and located the box (right behind the radio) then with one hand put the mirror on the other side of the box and then put the light where i could see the numbers on the back, you may have to have somebody write them down for you as you call them out. let me know if you find them.

It took me a little while to find the cream colored box because there is an aftermarket radio and other aftermarket wiring in the way but after I was able to move that stuff out of the way I was able to see the last 4 numbers. I going to try again on my buddies 2000 EX tomorrow I'll post the results.

I could not locate the box on my 2005, and I pulled all panels off including the ashtray and the lower dash panel and also my radio, moved arond the white insulation and still got nothing. I took my truck in for service under warranty, and they did it for free.

That would explain why he can not find it.

Guess I'll do the many numbers punching method.

Thank you Dzldenny! I saw your post and retrieving the keyless code worked. Upon removing the ashtray I found what appeared to be male audio jacks ? Red Yellow White.
Any idea what those are four? 2006 XLT 250 Super Duty Diesel. Thank you so much for your help.

I have a 2003 EB and I had the same issue when I bought it. Thanks to info from FTE I found my code in about 10 seconds without a mirror; just a flashlight. It was under the dash on the module directly behind the radio on the firewall. I pulled the fuse box cover and with a flashlight I was able to locate and read it within 10 seconds. Entered it and it worked immediately. Using the instructions in the owners manual I then programmed my own code; the entire process took about 10 minutes.

Hey guys. I just bought a 2010 Raptor with a few thousand miles on it and no Keycode card in the glovebox. Used the 1300-digit sequence posted earlier and had the door open in 40 minutes. Only problem with the newer keypads is they lock you out after 7 trys (or 35 digits entered), then on the next press the keypad buttons start flashing. You then have to wait one minute, or hit the unlock/lock buttons on the keyfob to reset it. Split the 1300 number sequence into groups of six 5-digit numbers. You will enter the first 36 numbers and get locked out (if unsuccessful). Reset, then enter the next group of six starting at the beginning of that group - you already entered the first 5 numbers on the last attempt, but since the memory is reset, you have to start off the next attempt repeating those numbers. Take your time, cross off groups as they are eliminated, and you will get it. I was close to 1000 numbers before my locks popped open.

OK, for some reason they don't come up on a FTE article search but while searching google I found these instructions which actually come from an FTE article. They are by far the most detailed set of directions I've seen.

Security Keyless Keypad Programming on 2002+ Super Duty and Excursions

(Note: These instructions should work with other Ford's as well. If you have specific locations and supplemental information for other Ford trucks and suv's please let us know).
When your vehicle was newly purchased from the dealer it came with a card in the owner’s manual packet that had the keypad code on it. The packet is often lost over time and as the vehicle trades owners the code to the Keyless Entry is lost. Ford Dealers wants some big money to get the code for you by plugging in their computer to retrieve the code or using the following method. There is a much easier way for you to get the code and you don’t need any tools or automotive knowledge. I’ll show you how and where to find the code and how to reset the Keyless Entry back to the factory code or your personal code number.

There are three ways to find to it. One is a lot easier than the other but less work if you have a good eye and great flashlight. There are some Excursions, F250 and F350s that have a different wiring system so the first location to look is just above the right front kick panel; the RAP module is black in color with the numbers on the front the same as the white module. If you look above the kick panel you can see it really clear without taking anything apart. If it is not at this location please follow the next step.

This part is not hard to do you will need to remove the front cover under the steering wheel that says fuse box. (It has 4 plastic screws to remove) under the dash, the five (5) digit code is on the Cream/white box behind the radio, look to the top right of the open fuse box cover through the wires. (Towards the fire wall look through where my finger is pointing). At the back firewall, look for a 5 digit code on a sticker on a cream/white box. This is not easy but if you try every angle I promise it will appear don’t forget to use a very powerful flashlight if you want to see it.

The second way is a more time consuming job because you have to remover the stereo and to the rear you’ll be able to see the 5 digit code very easy. This process can take 2-10 minutes.

This is a picture of the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module. This is the module you are looking for there is nothing that identifies it as the RAP module (Some RAP modules are Black in color & it could also be up side down). It is the only box in the dash with the large bold type set with five numbers on it these is the five (5) digit code you will need from the module. Write this number down this is the factory code for your Keyless Entry.

Now that you’ve got the code I’ll tell you how to use the Keyless entry and set-up your own code.

Make sure when pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad you press the middle of the buttons to ensure good contact with the controls.

Programming Your Own Personal Entry Code

1. Enter the factory-set code (keypad will illuminate when first digit is pressed).

2. Press the 1/2 control within five seconds of step 1.

3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Enter each digit within five seconds of the previous one.

Your personal code does not replace the factory-set code. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. Each time you set a new personal code the module will erase the previous one in favor of the new code. The factory-set code can not be erased.

Erasing Your Personal Code or A Prior Owner's Code

1. Enter the factory-set code.

2. Press the 1/2 control within five seconds of step one 1.

3. Press the 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time within five seconds of step two.

The system will now only respond to the factory-set code.

Unlocking the Doors

1. Enter either the factory-set code or the personal code (Each digit must be pressed within five seconds of the prior digit). The interior lights will illuminate as soon as the first valid digit is pressed.

2. To unlock all the doors, enter the factory set code or a personal code and press the 3/4 control within five seconds of the drivers door unlocking.

Locking the Doors

1. Press 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time. The 5-digit code does not have to be entered to lock the doors.

Deactivating/Activating Auto-lock

1. Enter the five 5-digit code.

2. Press and hold 7/8 control.

3. Press and release 3/4 control while holding 7/8 control.

4. Release 7/8 control.

The horn will chirp once if auto-lock was deactivated or twice if auto-lock was activated

Doesn't work on my 2000. I found both codes via the "crack" (keying in the string), tried using the first code as "factory" and the second code as "factory" and following the "erase prior owner code". Both times the result was both codes opening the door. Tried it multiple times with the same result (in case I fat-fingered the sequence).

Any ideas?
