Air filter mods worth it?
Just bought a 2001 4x4 F-150 with the 4.6 as an inexpensive go to work truck. It has flowmaster duels on it and sounds good, but does not have a lot of go! Is putting a cold air intake on it worth the money or just replace the stock filter with a K and N and remove the silencer? Also any other thoughts for cheap mods? Anyone have any thoughts on sythetic oil when the engine has 73,000 miles? I run synthetic on all my bikes and quads, but have always leased new cars and trucks in the past so I didn't spend the extra money on them, just to give it back to the bank!

i have a 02 f150 with the 4.2 and i got a intake from k&n and it gives a lil more throttle response and it sounds nicer, it was 300 bucks which wasnt to bad i like it thus far and it only took 30 mins to put in and relitively no tools were required only a few wrenches, its up to you if you want to spend the money but i like mine, o and it brings your milage down, more air more fuel
