Pass or fail emissions testing.
What generally makes an exhaust system on a old gasser pass or fail? I just got a 79 F-250 as a beater work truck and the last time it was inspected was may of 2000 and has sat since then. I want to put true duels on it (2 cherry bombs ) but im not sure if it will pass inspection with that type of settup. This is my first old truck that wasent bought new and I have never had a problem with passing inspection. Also I have been told only up to a certain year model needs to be inspected in Charlotte north carolina where I live. Im not sure if its pre 1970 is exempt from inspection or pre 1960..does anyone know?

Pass or fail emissions testing.
That completely depends on what state your in. Some states require them to be exactly like they were from the factory.
Call your local inspection office to get the skinny on it.
