Rocker Arm Adjustments

After some dis assembly to troubleshoot the root of my "broken/bent" pushrod situation, I noticed that several of the rocker arms look like this. Just a little scarring from the cup of the pushrod. Also, on the ones with the scarring, the threaded shaft that goes through the rocker and mates to the pushrod is a little higher up than the rest. I have to put all this back together at some point and don't have a clue as to how best to adjust all of this. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like you need shorter pushrods to correct the rocker geometry. Outside of pushrod cup must be hitting rocker the way it is. Shorter pushrods will allow you to turn the adjusters further down so the cup can't hit when the valves are in the closed postion.

If you are using hyd lifters, you may get away with collapsing the lifters a bit more by tighteneing the valvelash screws down more. Shouldn't hurt anything if you can do that without fully collapsing the lifters.
