The placed we stayed at was actually a house. It was clean, but Mike Holmes would have had a hay day. The guy did all the work himself, you could tell when the burnout started, or maybe it was because the guy was a burnout. I met him.
Had a good time. The converted silo was cool. The barn was converted to a party area complete with stripper pole! The silo had a bedroom in it. The bed was suspended on chains. Behind the bed was a couple of wips and handcuffs. Do not know if it was intended or left overs from the last bachelor party. Well, we were in Wisconsin so who knows.
I ended up getting 13.6 mpg with the F350 and it was windy, better than before the mods.
I ran the data logger on the scan gauge. The average temp on the trans was 138 degrees with a high of 147. It ran pretty much 90 - 95 over the outside temp.
That's how we roll over here, I guess. Maybe it's a Chetek thing, haven't seen any of that over this way, maybe I'm just sheltered
Trans temps sound just about right, anywhere around 100 over ambient is normal AFAIK.
Well Jay it must be warm enough for the gnomes here too because one of them ran off with my wire crimper this morning. I was using it earlier but now it is mysteriously missing!! grrrrrr I knew I should have just kept my mouth shut about them and I would have been fine. Well back to searching. Just thought I would let you know they are over here today taking tools so you guys should be fine.
Afternoon guys. well I just got my tool back from that darn gnome but he got away before I could stop him. He was headed in the general direction of the twin cities so I would lock your toolboxes up cause he is a crafty little devil!! Just thought I would give you a heads up!
Hope your Monday is going good guys!!
Steve, glad to hear your not in danger of flooding! Try and stay dry!

I think Troys gnome has got as far as Buffalo, and now he is into my computer. I have spent the last two hours looking for a report I wrote a year ago. Thanks Troy! You could have given him some other stuff to hide when he was there.
Morning Everyone!! Today is much better than yesterday. I was in bed pretty much all afternoon, then back to bed by 8pm yesterday. Some kind of bug. Probably flu.
I'm tempted to do the 10K (14.7K) mod for my 96 Powerstroke. If it'll improve my mileage (even a little bit), I'm all for it. I've gotten sort of gunshy though. I tried to do my thermostat a year ago and ended up with a $600 emergency water pump (I snapped the head off of one of the bolts). I took the fan and shroud out early winter and punctured the top cap of the radiator while putting the bolts back for "safe keeping." Simple things seem to burn me.
Hey, saw a couple of new faces but just had time to welcome you to the BS thread. Full of... well you know.
msmenne17, I see you've got a future mod of chip for your vehicle. I've got a 6-position burner and could hook you up with tunes from PHP pretty reasonable($300). I'd even help with installation if we both ever make it to a GTG. I think you'd see a slight MPG improvement, although its hard not to use the power when you've got it. Last fill with my 7.3 I got 19.9 mpgs and I'm not even to straight number 2 fuel yet, but keep in mind that's ideal conditions, 3-120 mile trips with few stops and slow downs plus a few miscellaneous miles.
