But seriously, how much better do you think it would be if all the countries were required to field non-professional players. I mean, if you play pro hockey anywhere in the world, you are not eligible to play in the Olympics. I think it would be much better. Same with basketball and baseball.

I hear ya, 4 of my Sharks were on the Canadian team and 1 on the U.S, but hey thats the rules. Remember the 1st dream team, basketball,they went in and cleaned house. That was unfair. At least this format they all go to their homeland. Heckuva game

I don't think it would have been better at all. Slower paced, mediocre puck passing, more goals scored with a lot more errors....but the word "better" doesn't come to mind.
I mean...everyone was still on an even keel with one and other. It’s just more exciting to watch the pro's play....which is why they dropped the all armature lines years ago.
