air down, air down, air down...I've run thru some nasty soft sand at the OBX in mine and even when I had the 265's had no problems...
with the 285s for beach driving I go down to 16-18 lbs...no issues at all, keep momentum if possible and keep from doing donuts..
Good info. I took the X out at lunch and found that the auto hubs are not engaging, but everything works as it should in manual. Just another project to add to the list...
Go to User CP in the upper left of the page. Believe you also have to have a certain number of post's if I remember. Here is a thread about my Ex on the beach, sorry to hear you are having a tough go at it.
My take on beach tires...
Smooth tread, even bald, not a problem. Aggressive mudders will dig straight down given enough throttle. Baldies will spin but not dig anywhere as much.
It's the air pressure that makes a huge difference; when the footprint is big enough you'll float on top.

There is a Lock-Right locker for the Dana 50, which would be great in sand. I would NOT recommend it for the street though. In 2WD it would not be active, no problem there, but in 4WD on snow (for instance) it would be a bear to steer.
