have 2003 f 150 everything seems to work down to the front 4 wheel drive actuator, moves in an out.no 4 wheel drive ,input on if it's in the front dif. or could be transfer case issue.want to know best way to trouble shoot it thanks
the front driveshaft locks in 4w drive, was wandering if Ican get to the parts in the diff. if need be without pulling a lot out. could not find a diagram yet online
Hi!
My 4X4 was doing the same thing -- the 4X4 actuator was moving in and out, however, when I compared the movement to my work truck (same truck) it was not moving as far in and out or as smoothly -- this could be your problem. Try putting some lube in there and move it back and forth by had while the truck is off before pulling out your differential. If you do find its the shift fork, please add to my post mentioned earlier by Mish and note how you diagnosed and fixed it! -- Trying to get all the problems of the whole system in one post so people don't have to search anymore
Thanks!
