I'm sure this has been addressed before, but have terrrible luck with the search option. I have a highboy with no air and a couple parts rigs that have it. How much trouble and what all does it entail to put factory air on a non factory cab. I would like to keep the currant cab and just change it to the xlt pavkage with air. Or would I be way better off swapping cabs.

Did it with my 77. Biggest issue is cutting the hole in the firewall for the system. Park your trucks side by side and take everything from the radiator and radiator support to the dashboard and swap it over. the wire harness in my truck only required me to change the blower motor plug to a different style. Remove the hood, right fender and inner fender and the right front tire. Makes working in there a whole lot easier. I did mine on a long 4th of July weekend. Don't know about the high output heater but I do know the cores are different betwee the a/c and non a/c trucks.
nice truck nice job thats a beautiful rig can I ask you what tool did you use to cut the hole in the firewall for the ac. thanks joe hope you didnt mind me looking in your gallery what a great job.
