Air vents

Hey fellas, I have a 1979 F250 4x4. It was originally a factory air truck, the air con equipment is long gone. What I would like to know is how the fresh air venting works and where it is located. The trouble I have is over the winter I have too much fresh air coming in and it cools off the cab too much. The heater works great. I would like to be able to limit the fresh air intake to the cab. Thanks

The fresh air comes in from the passenger side of the cab. There is a vacuum controlled door that either allows fresh air in or closes to recurculate cabin air. It should draw fresh air unless you have the control all the way on cool. You should be able to see the door or the opening in the bottom of the vent work on the passenger side. It is possible that the door is missing and so you get fresh air directly into the cab at all times. The whole thing in vacuum operated so check for leaks and disconnected hoses.
