Joe's hammer is at it again.
All members in hawaii and austrailia and along your west coast get your IDI to high ground. It is however to park your aerostar on the beach the rest of the day though.

8.8 and it will be hitting Hawaii and everywhere else almost. I am worried about all the people in Hawaii because it may be big. The navy base is not taking chances, bases evac'd, ships set out to sea etc. Should be interesting! Funny how there was the Haiti quake, we had a 3.3 right off the coast, then chile. All of those are on the same fault line!

Like i siad he is gonna bring the world down around us. I seen a show on the history channel about the one called the new madris I think it is called. They said that in the late1700's or early 1800's it let go real big and they felt it all the way back east. It is also what made the little island that is part of Kentucky over there by diverting the flow of the river. They said that if it let go that way again it would mess every thing up because of the pipe lines that run thru that area. Also most of the buildings in places like cincinnati aren't built to handle it and would come crashing down.

I would be more worried about the yellowstone super volcano letting loose. North America is in major deep **** if that happens not to mention the whole world.

I try not to think about that lol. Even our idi's wouldn't run in that ash. Maybe they could drill a few pressure relief wells out there and settle things down some (ya right lol).

That New Madrid fault actually reversed the flow of the Mississippi temporarily during the big one in the 1800s. Sounds like some serious torque to me.

sad part would be if they were drilling and let er loose. Once it goes, there would be zero ability to stop it. Scary side of the issue is that there are lakes that have moved hundreds of feet from the ground swelling and there are other areas that have died off from extreme temperature changes. It is so overdue it isnt funny. I was thinking of this issue when you said even out idi's couldnt run in that and i beg to differ. I have heard of the intake tubes being diverted into the cab of the truck with sealed pvc tubing and it will enable you to drive through anything, including deep water. If you put an oiled filter on that one in the cab and a solid paper filter in the truck housing, you would be good to go. Makes ya think!! i am sure that i would be driving but for how long? i dont know.

I have a buddy in New Zealand and he said they got something like a 10cm wave. As he put it, not even good enough to surf. The only potential danger is if you were swimming after the wave struck and you get pulled out to sea. I've been in a rip when I was in australia....lol several actually, I kept finding them.

The Tsunami that hit Indonesia a few years ago on boxing day was unique in that there was a massive upward thrust of the ocean floor and thats what caused such a large surge in the ocean. The sea was literally lifted up and then fell to the side. Sea bottom quakes happen all the time, but that one was a much more rare event.

Hawaii got less than 3 feet from what i heard on the radio earlier. lot better than what could have happened. Good thing the Chilie builders know what they are doing. Most of their buildings have steel frames to absorb the vibrations and sway the structure.
