Ok guys im needing to pick your brains some more! 87 ford f-250 dual tanks. Front tanks reads right/ feeds motor fine. Switch to back tank nothing...fuel gauge still reads front tank still uses from front tank. Back tank is full of fresh fuel.
I would start by checking all fuses, I'm not sure which one it is.
I would then check the connector for the fsv and make sure the power is switching, also not sure which wires it is so check them all and see what if any changes there are with the switch in both positions. It may be your fsv but I like to make sure before buying parts, especially since many replacement parts are inferior to what it comes with.
I think they recalled it because it wasn't working. Not because of your shoes. lol
If the tank is full it would spit out, but if the pump is too fast or the vent is stopped up it will do the same.
Is this fsv something that is serviceable? or is it usually a throw away? Meaning can you remove it and flush out the ports, thump it on the work bench and get it working? or does it just pay to get the 6 port you guys speak of.
If you are sure it is getting power switched from the dash switch and it doesn't work by cleaning the connections, use Joes hammer method to service it.
lol star.
if you tested the voltage and know the connections are good, but she's not switching, then you will need to replace it.
be sure to test the voltage tho, because it could be your switch/fuse etc.
