Banjo bolt

I am trying to fix a fuel leak on a 1997 7.3.
It looks like it is in the area of the banjo bolt. Do I need to replace the bolt and washers or just the washers? Do the washers come in a kit or do I need to purchase them seperately? Is there 2 washers?
Thanks in advance!

I believe it is just one gasket, it is metal, you may try just cleaning it and re-using it,

There is a washer on each side of the banjo bolt. Most likely the fuel pump is leaking out the weep hole (like a water pump). If so you need to replace the pump. It's hard to see the leak because it's just below and to the left (passenger side) on the pump body.

If you purchase a new pump you also need to get new washers. They don't come with the fuel pump. You can get them at a Ford or International dealer.

mine has a leak that i noticed this week while changing the oil. mine is leaking off to the passenger side of the truck but the engine valley is pretty clean. last time i changed my fuel pump was about a year ago and maybe mine might be leaking from the banjo bolt gasket cuz i don't remember if it came with the fuel pump or not.

Would you recommend buying a fuel pump at ford or going through the local parts house?

Before you do anything I'd try cleaning the valley spotless, idle up the truck and get in there with an inspection mirror and bright light and see whats going on, could be as simple as the bolt needing a little snugging up..

Just a 1 1/4" wrench should work for the banjo bolt.

I reused the gasket in mine. if you end up replacing the fuel pump do yourself a favor and check fit the old banjo bolt into the new pump. make sure it goes all the way in and back out without hanging up at all. do this before you bolt the new pump into the valley. unless its damaged you shouldnt need to replace the gasket its copper iirc. shouldnt need to remove the turbo either. just really short turns with a 1-1/4" box end wrench. and try not to drop anything down the hole the old pump came out of. things like the push rod or hold down bolts turn the engine by hand until the pump push rod is at top dead center might be helpful.
