I just read this thread over at PHP.
I never thought of putting an overdrive on your HPOP, sounds like a great idea.

Dan,

That was a good read. Thanks for posting the link. The only caveat I have is that in theory the longevity of the HPOP is decreased by 66%. If you already have an HPOP with 100000 miles on it then in the next 100000 miles the HPOP will have 266000 miles on it. But there are plenty of trucks out there that have 300000+ on the stock HPOP so it may not be much of a concern.

The increase in MPG at 75 MPH certainly caught my eye. I wish he had done a MPG check at 65 MPH.

I also want to see Bill's graphs of the Adrenaline alone. When watching my HPOP gauge recently the Adrenaline alone held ICP steady at 3000 PSI on a WOT run from 60 MPH until the speedo pegged beyond 100 MPH. Even if the gauge had an error of + or - 5% that is between 2850 and 3150. I do have the small AB injectors, but they are split shots. With that kind of ICP I don't think I need an OD, yet. I'm going to have to data-log a run like this so I can see the duty cycle.

Agreed on the HPOP life span.
Looking forward to your graphs, too.

I think you will be impressed with the Adrenaline. The midrange and up is strong and consistent.

I thought you already had a Joey modded HPOP.

Great endeavor Ron. Make sure the camera has lots of memory and good batts.

I was going to do some WOT testing today but the DPS (AZ Highway Patrol) had my test stretch of Highway 87 staked out. It's the only really safe place around here to go WOT. A lot of traffic headed this way on Fridays and AZ needs the revenue.
