don't know why, but after warm & driving down the road my windshield and door windows fog up BAD
Defroster is on high, good heat.....tried cleaning the windows with the rain X interior stuff thinking maybe it was just super dirty windows, but it did it again about 2-3 miles down the road.....
Can't smell anti-freeze, was thinking maybe the heater core has a slight leak.....out of ideas here, but this is nuts
thanx....very well could be the heater core, but there is no leaking and no smell. 1st time I may have a bad core without the leaking or smell lol, but will see about changing it soon!!

i have had it happen to me 3 time with different trucks no drip no smell but you see were it leaks when removed
The heater box has a drain built into it to get rid of outside moisture and moisture built up from the heater/ and specifically the A/C system. If this drain is plugged with leaves or other debris, it can create the problem you are having.
This is assuming your heater core isn't the culprit.

I've been dealing with heater cores ever since I bought my 1987 F250 6.9. I bought the heater cores from Advance auto parts but after having replaced the 4th core in 3 years, the last one lasted less than a month, I went to NAPA. I paid $29 plus change and it's still working fine. I checked O'reilly and they sell the same brand name heater core as Advance auto parts. Sure they were all covered under the warrenty but who wants to change the heater core a couple times a year? I will say one thing, Ford did us all a favor putting the heater core where you can get to it without having to pull the dash apart. I think there are 6(?) 5/16 screws holding the cover over the heater core. First thing you need to do is remove the heater hoses after draining some coolant.
X3 if you cant smell it and it doesn't leave the colant residue on the windshield.
I was crossing alligator alley one day when smoke started boiling out of the cab of the pickup in front of me. the whole cab was full of smoke and the guy was on the brakes hard. I got stopped and grabed a fire extinguisher and ran up there. it was steam and it about choked the guy before he could get out, his heater core had exploded. lol
Hmmm, will check NAPA then, auto-zone has the Spectra Premium brand. Mine was like $36-$37 for the "hi-output" but I do only want to change this once if I can get away with it

Jason
where is this drain located exactly?
89 f250 7.3IDI
lmao, whats a plenum?? Speak a little more hillbilly for me. lol
Its the air box. Looking under the hood where the ac enters the fire wall there is a protruded (jutted) area underneath that area is where the drain is, ON MINE. You may have to get under the P-side of the truck and look up near the exaust manifold to see it. Carry a flash light with you.
