I know in order to get rid of the seat belt ding, I have to buckle my seat belt but how can I get rid of it when I'm not wearing it? I looked at the fuses and I don't know which one to pull. Any idea? Thanks
You could indeed just wear your seat belt............they do save lives
Thats almost like asking if theres a way to ensure that the bullet doesn't end up in the chamber while playing russian roulette.....there is but its still dumb to do it
I know what you mean, very annoying isnt it???
I dont condone not wearing the belt, but it is very loud and piercing, and sometimes there can be reasons to take it off (ice crossings etc...)
On my 05, you turn the key on, then off, insert the buckle and take it out 9 times, then turn ignition on again and it should be silent.
Thats what I remember from when a friend of mine did it
Good Luck!!!
I tried the on off and 9 times thing and it didn't work. I'll have to try it again. As far as wearing the seat belt, I always do but I always have friends that really don't like wearing it so instead of me nagging them to wear it, I rather get rid of the noise. Thanks though
you have to set the parking brake , and make sure that all doors are closed , turn the key on and wait til the little orange seat belt light goes out (takes about a minute.) then do and undo the seat belt 9 times. if done right then the little seat belt kight will flash to let you know that it worked. you have to do this for each seat
Not trying to hijack this but if I don't put my seatbelt on before I start the truck the chime just keeps dinging, even tho I am wearing the belt. The only way I have been able to stop it is to shut the truck off and then restart. Total PIA!

EXACTLY. But on the bright side I am now in the habit of putting on my seatbelt right away. I think the worst thing is if I warm it up in the morning and sit in the seat to start it the damn chime will go off even if I am not in the truck. You can hear it dinging while I am standing outside brushing the snow off. Now thats stupid!
