So i bought my truck about 6 months ago noing that it need some minor work. I was told that it had a clear title. I was able to drive it home. about 8 miles of back roads running terrible. To me i acted like a lifter pump. Got new lifter pump the next day, still acted up and noticed one of the return line leaking. New return lines and good as new as long as i used the front tank. Drove it some but i was mostly out of town working and the truck was sitting. I was waiting for the title to come in the mail for quit some time and when i showed up i was not signed nor noterized. I got in touch with the origial party and found out that this truck has a lean against it. does anybody know of getting a salvage title or rebuild title i just want this truck in my name i have put way to much effort into it. any ideas please help
checked into that earlier today. he does owe money. it is not much at all i am very tempted to pay it myself just because of how much i love this silly truck
ah ok.so he was hurting and really had to get rid of it quick.
well, you practically got the truck free lol.so if its 500 or less, just pay it off so you can get her clear and tagged.
i know it just sucks cause times are tough and i trusted him when he said clear tiltle.
Talk to him and get the registration so you can tag it until he gets it payed off if he is taking care of the lean, but for sure get a legal bill of sale first.
I bought a 1 ton from an uncle and he kept giving me the run around about finding the title. I finally called the banker and found the title and he was in the process of filing bankruptcy. So I called him and said I would burn the truck before anybody took it. He somehow got the title released.
just to clarify i am very new at the title transferring he has signed the title over to me. he bought it from the owner of a dealership and the dealership never paid liked they promised.
How can he sign a title over that has a lean. Every state that I have lived in it is illegal to sell one with a lean on it.
Is it possible that he has paid the lean and just has not had it released on the title.
Call your Attorney Generals Office and report it. There are laws that forbid dealers from doing this type thing. It constitutes fraud and possible mail fraud if financial paperwork was transmitted by mail. There were cases of this stuff happening back in the 80's. The lawmakers came down on the dealers heavy with new laws. Track it down and get some help locally if possible. There should be a consumer fraud agency were you live. Damn I hate crooks!!!
After you get it straightened out wait about a year then find the guy that tried to stick it to you and break a knee cap with a ball bat. Then go up to the hospital the next day and break the other knee cap. I guarantee he won't do it to you again or anybody else!!
I had some hassles like this a few years back. I found an attorney that specialized in vehicle matters like this. One free visit and I had all the information I needed. It's worth a phone call or a sit down. There may be an easy way to remedy. Good luck.
