Question rocker arm question

Putting the rocker arms back on after the valve job. Need to know how tight to tighten them. It's a 1972 302 from a car. I've heard that some you have to tighten them all the way down, then back off a quarter turn. But, when I did this it seemed to loosen them way up, so I'm not sure it's right for my application. Anyone shed some light? Thanks in advance for your help.

They're positive-stop rockers, tighten them all the way down.

Thanks, BBB, I was hoping you'd be the one to reply. Any idea on the actual torque spec? If not I'll just use my built in torque guestimator. Thanks again for the help.

Oh the torque, 18-20 ft.lbs. after the nut contacts the shoulder.
