I have a '77 F150 with a 400M and C6. The truck runs pretty good. But the torque converter slips a little and it leaks a little fluid out of the dust cover. I was thinking the leak is coming from the front pump seal but I'm not sure. I was also wondering if all C6 torque converters are the same. I have a 75 with a 390, and I was wondering if i could swap the torque converters out. Any help is appreciated

When you remove the TQ look on the hub and see if its all scored up. If so youll need to replace the front pump bushing and the front pump seal, not to mention the TQ. These parts can be found at Napa
Torque converters are set up for specific engines, and their power curves. It wouldn't do much good to use a six cylinder torque converter behind a built 460, or the other way around. The one from the 390 -should- bolt up the same, and be close, but it most likely will not give the best performance.
I think you will find that the convertor pilot hub that fits in the crank hub may be different. There are some differences in convertor pilot hub size and length in the different engine familys. C6's also leak from the front where the shaft hole for the band pivot is . I generally seal this hole with silicon sealant, also check the pump mounting gasket when you install the pump seal as this is a common leak site in older transmissions.
