Engine build 3 years in the making!!

About 3 years ago I blew up my 3rd 7.3. And I swore this would never happen again. So for the last 3 years my 99 has been a paperweight while I have built the best 7.3 money could buy, with the parts available at the time. Just a few days ago I was finally able to finish paying the machine shop bill.

I have long been a member of FTE and wanted to share the story as I put it back together and back in my dormant 99 chassis. Which by the way received a 2007 dana 60 front end complete with all the modern coil spring suspension components while waiting for the motor.

This motor should be built well enough to handle over 800hp!! With a little luck it will be running within the month and will have to be one of the most powerful Veg Burnin 7.3 in the country. Here is a short list of the long block parts only:

New Block- Completely blueprinted
O-ringed Head Gaskets- Half in the head, half in the Block
WOP Main Girdle
Main Studs
Crower Rods
Custom Mahle Pistons w/bowl cut
Ceramic coated piston top
Dry-film coated skirts
Dry-film coated bearings
ARP head studs
Custom DI Camshaft
Comp Cam 910 springs
Chrom-moly high strength push rods
Fluid-Damper harmonic Balancer
line-hone
Balance Rotating assembly
Swamps 300cc+ Custom New Hybrid Injectors
Dual HPOP
High temp Powder Coat block and heads

And a whole lot of little stuff here and there. All the accessories and supporting sheet metal have been Ceramic Coated, Powder Coated, or polished. This has been way too long in coming. Now maybe I can help us 7.3 guys get a little respect from the Cummins Guys!

I'll Post more pics as I get further into this

Awesome! I can't wait to see some vids of this.

Do you mind if we ask how much of a hole this drool inducing engine burned in your pocket? Looks like it burned your pants off completely.

wow...this should be a beast! I would love to do this, one day. I've thought about a cummins conversion, but thought with all the money needed for that, build a bada$$ 7.3 instead. I can't wait to see and hear this running!
