Life is exciting when you come home from the office to find UPS boxes of truck parts at your door!
Now's when the anticipation starts. I bought the 2.5" Icon leveling system from TruckToyz down in McAllen, TX. After talking with a gentleman on the phone for a few minutes, I was hooked up with the 2.5" progressive rate coils, castor cams, 4 Icon shocks valved specifically for the Super Duty, a new adjustable track bar, and 5" rear blocks with new u-bolts.
TruckToyz seemed to think I will probably get a little more lift than the advertized 2.5" because I have a gasoline engine. I wanted to keep the rear of the truck level or perhaps slightly taller than the front, so we decided to go with the 5" blocks over the standard 4" blocks included in the kit.
It looks like I'll have to anxiously await installation day. I'm hoping a full day ought to get the job done. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll have enough time to get to town and into the allignment shop. If anyone has ever installed this kind of thing and has any advice let me know.
I remember trashing a set of ball joints on my 2wd Ford Ranger during a spindle lift. I wish someone would have told me to be careful of the dust boots. Turns out a pickle fork is brutal on those parts in the hands of a noob. I can laugh at that now, lol It wasn't very funny 1000 miles later when my allignment went to pot.
VERY easy install. One of the easiest trucks I've worked on. And you will definitely be pleased with the ICON stuff. I've done a leveling kit, 4.5" kit, then went up to 5.5" now I just upgraded to 7". Its addicting, be careful!!!.
yes, pics before and after please im looking at that one or 4.5. and tells about the ride to.
thanks
ps. all i got today was a set of brake pads from hawk

With the 7" Icon lift kit, do you plan to run taller tires?
install should be probably about 1/2 day...just follow the instructions and it should go smoothly. having someone help you is almost a must, but you could probably do it on your own...
MAKE SURE YOU pay attention to your brake, abs, vac lines when dropping your axle to swap the springs!! ALSO after a few miles of driving get back under your truck and recheck all the bolts you touched.
Well I was actually at 5.5" (4.5" kit plus the 1" TEI spacer) so I only went up 1.5", plus probably another inch for tire size change. Plus I have the amp steps which makes it really nice. Wife is 5'2". She complained a little bit at first with the 7", but she still gets in and out fine.
