nice project. gotta love rust free metal, wish i had some lol.
I know what you mean.
That really is the beauty of AZ trucks.
There is one VERY small piece of rust at the bottom of the rear fender.
Looks like some mud was stuck behind the support bracket...but that's it.
Doors are blocked and ready for final prime.
Got the floor POR'd yesterday and will start wet sanding the cab and frame today and should have another coat of primer in a day or two.
Hopefully have paint on by Friday and put the motor in next week.

The project is looking good, mine is all stripped and waiting to be shipped to the body man. One of these days i'll do my own body owrk hopefully, but my wife wants "her" truck nice, haha. Keep us up on the updates!
wow, thats my goal right now with my 351c! thats amazing. hey larry how did you get those front radiator supports off of the front frame horns? im rebuilding a 78 fi50 right now and im stuggling with that
Nice build and coming along really well. For those front radiator mount bolts, you may have to sawzall them off. If you are able to get the bolts out and the support off, but you can't split the rubber mount bushings, screw a bolt back in a ways and take a large hammer and pound down on the bolt to separate the bushings. That worked for me anyway on those and also the cab mount bushings.

One of the bolts came out without too much trouble.
The other one had to be cut off with a sawzall.
My buddy has been bust doing other things at work for a while so we finally got back to work on this thing last week.
Got the frame painted during the weeek and got the cab painted yesterday.
It looks sweet!
I'll try and get pics up later tonight.
Nice, nice, nice!!! I really wished I could get a "clean" cab and short box for my next project like you have there. They are nearly impossible to find here in the rust belt (Michigan). I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullit and drive down south to get one. My inlaws live in Tucson but that is a bit too much of a drive for me and shipping is expensive. BTW, L&L products is THE way to go. I have their mounts and headers and they have been great on the replacement warranty (both have been replaced once, right mount seperated after 6 years due to torque and headers had pin holes by the flange's due to thin metal from the strech process in production). I also have their ALT and PS bracket's ( nice stuff). I bought mine from Jeff's Bronco grave yard because they are only about 20 min from my house and had better prices. Keep up the awesome work and keep us posted on the progress. -Ed
Now it's on to seats.
Looking at Beards but it seems that there a lot of choices out there these days.
Have any of you guys put some sort of "racing" style seats in your trucks recently?
I would like to look at some options.
Thanks!
Been a while but here we are, I don't know how many months later.
We took on another major project over the summer and just recently got back on the stepside.
It's coming along nicely.
It's obvious that the color selection is a real winner!!!
