Gas Tank Relocation
#16
Let's face it, any gas tank can be ruptured in an accident. I do not like the outside-the-frame mount, the in-cab mount nor the rear mount. Again, JMHO.
Any tank underneath a vehicle is subject to debris damage, also. Oh well, thanks for y'all's input-I will give a report on my final answer!

Link to a 19 gallon fuel cell with 90 ohm fuel sender installed. Dimensions are 30L x 12W x 12D .Add a rollover vent valve, a 45 degree filler neck and route the filler to the side of the bed.
If this one is too wide for your comfort, there is a 15 gallon version that is 30L x 9W x 12D that will give you more clearance for the drive shaft.

No, it does not. A fuel cell is nothing but a gas tank. These happen to be made from aluminum, have two 1/2" fittings for fuel line and return line and a vent port. You can use a regular engine mounted fuel pump if you are running a carb or you can use any of dozens of different types of electric fuel pumps for either carb or fuel injection setups. You will need to use a reducer to change from the -8 AN fittings on the tank to your existing fuel line. -8 lines are way more than are needed for a street driven truck.

here's a pic of my "slick" it had a 60 gallon fuel cell/tank under the tool box. The one issue I had was trying to fill the sucker! I had to keep about 20 gallons in it all the time so it wouldn't run out of gas. I'd have one again in a heartbeat. The inlet was in the tool box on both sides.
