Diff. location for upfitter-type switches?

Am looking for ideas as to a clean location to install upfitter or other-type toggle switches into my '05 but don't want to use the factory location.

I have a manual transmission so can't use the 650 lower console.

Please and thanks.

I always admired these that user beerstalker put in his old truck:

That picture is from his gallery.

I have a plan, but I'm not sure if its gonna pan out yet. I hope to mount three Carling switches to the left of the steering column, below the gauges.

Kind of in the opposite location as my rear wiper switch shown here

I have all the bits gathered, I just need to get some time and weather to do it. I'm also going to put one or two switches in the same spot beerstalker did. I'm a fan of that too

Radio Shack has quite a few switches to choose from. I added a lighted pushbutton switch to activate my cargo lights whenever I want.

Last weekend I finally got around to doing this. They turned out pretty good!

The three Carling switches are:
- wiper shaker (haven't installed that system yet but the switch is wired up & ready)
- backup camera enable
- heated mirror control

and the round rocker switch on the bottom is for a light in my truck cap.

There's a writeup on the way but here's a few teaser pics...

and for low range two wheel drive....
