The Competetion...

Although I don't think Ford has released its figures on the 2011 F-250/350 it has said that it will be a class leader and judging by what GM has just put out it should be an impressive beast.
Just look at the Payload and towing capacities of the GM diesels w/ the Allison trannies...If Ford can top these and still keep the toughness we all enjoy than this will be THE TRUCK!!

PS. I don't want to start any wars on here....

umm how exactly is chevy claiming best towing with 20,000lbs when the 2010 F450 did 22,500..

and im sure the 2011 models will tow even more...

as long as theres a car front end of that chevy it will never be able to do what a Ford SD or a RAM HD can do.. never.

i did find if funny that they claim the new front end can now finaly accept a snowplow.. haahah...now ? took em long enuf

Unfortunately, Ford is neutering its f-450 and is going to a dana 80 and 8-lugs all around with smaller brakes. Too many people were comlaining about not being able to put any smaller than 19.5" wheels. It'll be more like an F-350. With that said, I will be trying to post a link to the thread.

I am guessing that they were comparing it to a comparable truck. I would not consider a F450 comparable to a 3500HD

why not the 3500HD is the top end for Chevy's truck, as is the F450 for Ford.

I don't know. For me,if Ford make an unreliable engine again,I mean 6.7, - Ford die for me forever. There is so many trouble in past with a Ford engine (International),and,if they put unreliable, not proven in time, engine again - its shame and no more Ford's for me.If they put lower # in HP,TQ than Chevy - its shame again.Just look at the Dodge, they stay with Cummins long time, good truck, transmission and great engine! What we need a more? Why spend a lot of money to the new engine when here is years proven great engine like Cummins?Same with Chevy, they still with Duramax and Allison.I so like Ford trucks, and hope they not disappointed us.

Fuel economy

I noticed they mention 18 % better fuel economy on pick up models vs 2010 pickup models......18 % of what......what was the published fuel economy of the 2010 model.

I don't believe there were any official published data as it wasn't required...

Actually one thing that the '11 F-450 P/U will keep is the larger brakes of the current F-450 P/U...

I'm confident that Ford will be putting out a great engine but I wouldn't gamble my hard earned money on a first year model, that's for sure. I would wait and take in all the info from the people willing to take a chance on this brand new motor!! If this motor comes right out of the gate with great reliability and mpg's then you will feel much more comfortable shelling out big bucks on the next years models!! Oh I hope the Ford Diesel does great!!

I dont really care about them comming out with Higher HP and TQ numbers. I would be more interested in having the most durable diesel on the market. That would take back lost sales to chevy and dodge. 390Hp from the factory is pretty sweet.
