ahhhh. yeah there are a few kwik kar places around here too. there are many places that are like that. Come in, get your money while i drive your truck thru the parking lot and slam on the brakes, come back, check the lights, hit the horn, and slap the sticker on. they don't even check my e-brake(mine doesn't work). lol

Texas does not do emission tests on diesels, only the safety test. They won't even bother to look under the cab to see if you have the cat/muffler because they can't fail you even if you don't. I had a diesel Mercedes for 6 years in Grand Prarie/Arlington area. There is no emission testing for them.

Do you come up for those events or the rally? Let me know the next one you're headed to.

That's how most places are with the diesels.

They keep forgetting to check mine too. Mine's a stick so I always use the e-brake. They get in and try to drive off and have to stop and think about why it won't go.

Don't worry. The kids that work at most of these places don't know if yours came with a cat anyway. I've never had them check under my truck for one. If they ask you for any reason, just say, it's a diesel. It didn't come with a cat, and I bet they believe you.

i haven't made it to the rally, but there were a few of the NTXPSA guys at the Crandall race that NADM put on and i raced in that one. not gonna take my truck to far away til i can figure out what the heck is wrong with it. til then, i'm stickin' as close as i can to home. haha

I don't know if it's dry. If it is, you won't have to go far to get something though.

I'd have to think about it, but there's a detail place in Farmers Branch or Carrollton I got my truck inspected at a couple of years ago right around that area that didn't do much more than check the lights and slap on a sticker.

I think you can use any county that has the same test that your home county requires. Since Diesels only require a safety check, I think you will be OK anywhere. Also, be sure to get the "green sheet" that the county registrar will require to prove that your truck passes inspection.

I think Farmers Branch is dry, but there are stores close, Addison for sure and maybe Carrollton.
