Hey everyone.
I usually buy Motorcraft cap and rotor button, but this morning they told me 82.00 WTF??? I cannot pay 82 dollars for that.
Need recommendations for the parts houses for good ones...
Don't really buy other brands but this time I will try it.
What kind guys???
Tim
BWD.... MSD- cap and rotor kit at autozone $32 .... duralast... accel.... mallory.... and acdelco.... i would personally go with the MSD kit or mallory but u have to get the $10 adapter for the mallory one because it bolts on
I go to O'Reilly's and buy their house brand... they have done really well for me. Also used the AirTex (spell check) from rock auto and haven't had any problems with either yet!

Same here- it's a distributor cap and rotor, not a life changing event. I regularly change mine every 1.5 to 2 years so it's not a part I would require be of top quality.
Thanks y'all... Gonna go semi low buck...
no $$$ motorcraft this time.... as bad as I hate to say that...
I'm not having any problems, just routinely change the cap, it's been in there 4-5 years, doing a good tune up, I will use the motorcraft spark plugs just like always.... got a thermostat, tranny fluid and filter, and a electric window motor for the pass door stockpiled up so far for a work on the truck day here soon.
I wouldn't buy the cheapo cap and rotor. It won't last as long. The MSD cap/rotor is a direct replacement and has brass contacts instead of aluminum ones. You can get one for less than 30 bucks.
yes do check to see if you are getting the brass contacts on your cap because they will last longer... I don't go base line with the cap but the next step up and get the one with brass caps on it. Also get yourself a $3 prestone flush kit and flush your radiator when you change your fluid. Just takes a garden hose and the $3 kit!
Oh and texasguy I would have gotten that rotor but forgot to when I ordered my parts from summit. They always add $10 to any single order so it's not really worth it to get just one or two items from them...
I'm gonna do the MSD cap next.. I got the NAPA one last time and it didn't even last 4 months and the contacts were arc-d out and corroded.. Seems like every oil change I have to go in there and clean them or I'll get a rough idle.
