About two months ago i noticed a drop in mpg with my 300. I seemed to get 17-19 on avg on the hwy. Now it seems i get about 10-12 until the truck gets warm, about 20 min it seems then it levels back off. What could be my problem?
theres a few things you can check. have you replaced your fuel filter, spark plugs, distrubutor cap and rotor lately? seems the theme the last 2-3 weeks has been about fuel injectors... there is another post about a 300 with a miss (should be near top) and I believe he is going to do his injectors...
You can clean out/rebuild your own injectors and put them back on with an air compressor, good can of injector cleaner, plenum gasket and a RJM rebuild kit (total $40-$45). I'd recommend looking around on the ford fuel injecton link below...
