Mud Terrain Tire Advise...
Hey guys, I'm looking for either a 35x13.5x20 or 37x13.5x20 M/T tire. What do you guys recommend? I had a set of Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs 33x12.5x16 on my old f-150 and liked them. If nothing else really appeals to me I may go with this same tire again. I like the looks of the Pro Comp Xtreme M/Ts, however the widest tire they have is a 12.5'', according to there website...What do you guys recommend?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Both. I want a tire that performs, but its gotta look good too!
I like the look of the new KM2's from BFG. The only reason I ended up with the procomp Xtrns is because the km2 were not out yet and would not be for a few months and I needed tires asap. They will more than likely be my next tires, just don't know if they carry the widder tires.
I really like the Toyo Open country M/Ts, however my shop doesn't have the right to sell them. I may end up getting those tires somewhere else, however I wan't to give my shop the business, we'll see.

What size lift are you planning for the 37's? Here's a pic of the front of my F350 with a DR 7" + 1" TEI, 17" wheels with the Toyo M/T. I have just over 30,000 miles on them now of mixed highway, around town and quite a bit of trail use and will probably get another 15 to 20k out of them. If you're doing this for off- road reasons I don't recommend 20" wheels as you will not get as much flotation out of them when airing down for added traction, not to mention the shorter sidewall height has it's cons. The 20's will also give a harsher ride in addition to the ride of a lifted truck. 18" or 17" might get you a larger variety of tires to choose from.
Also a good point was brought up about load range....Toyo's are rated at 4300 or 4200 lbs. which also gives reason to their longevity.

I have had the best luck with the Mickey MTZ's, pricey yes but I have over 25K miles on my current 36-15.50-20 and they still have every bit of half tread.
As for the post about the mud grapplers, that has got to be, the WORST lasting tire I have ever had, aside from a bogger, on the street. 20K miles MAX and they are shot, all 3 sets of them that i had.

I love my toyo mt's. They take me a lot of places just in 2wd and just about anywhere in 4wd. They were used when I got them so I can't speak about the mileage. I have some friends who've got around 50k+ out of theirs. A thing to consider is the toyos from my experience don't like cornering. My dad had a set and they only lasted about 20k and were shot. I attribute this to the fact that he lives on a river road and figured they dont like cornering that weight at 55 mph.
