What is causing your to need to change your thermostat?

I hope you have found help with replacing your thermostat by now. I replaced my 6 Cyl 1993 Explorer’s thermostat w/o a problem when it suddenly overheated or ran much hotter. The new thermostat cured the problem. years later the housing started leaking. Lazy Me! Tried to tighten the small weep with a “Slight Tightening” and stripped out the stud. With a seated “O” ring, there is no room for additional tighten. I was able to over-size the stud or tapped deeper. Remember! The aluminum w/n take much torque and with the “O” ring you will bottom-out w/o needing excess torque.

Good Luck!
JOW
