2005-07 upper bumper valance

I just bought a 2006 complete bumper and I'm going to install it on my 2000 F250, but I was looking at the upper bumper valance and it is a little wavy.

Does any body else have this problem? I was thinking about putting a 1/8" plate of aluminum on the bottom of the valance filler and rivet it and then glue the upper valance to the filler. Has anyone done something like this? Any pics? Or should I just buy a new upper valance? Thanks

Check price of the upper valance at ford dealer, you may be surprised at the reasonable cost. ...I'm also considering putting a 2005-2007 bumper on my 1999 F250. Is this pretty simple? ...needing no modification? Thanks.

Ok, The 2007 bumper installed on my 1999 F250 just fine using the front 4 bolts. However the 2007 had additional braces underneath between the frame and the bumper ends, which were not long enough to reach the frame on my 1999. For now I've left these off as they dont really appear to be needed. I may try to fabricate something later.

Also the upper bumper cover on the 2007 is painted plastic, so now working on getting it painted to match my truck.

Yes, mine is wavy. There is actually a TSB on this, and if you were still under warranty they would have replaced it for you. I never did, and it doesn't really bother me. Not very noticeable unless you are looking for it. If it bothers you, buy a new one.
