Isn't a "cat delete pipe" the same thing as adding a pipe the same size as ones exhaust pipe to replace the cat?

Removing the Cat, will the truck run loader? Make smoke? What are the benifits of removing the Cat?

Same thing you can just add a pipe. I choose to purchase one all ready to install took about 10 minutes. By removing the cat it should lower your egt's a bit; Less Restriction on the engine; I can now hear my turbo spool...I'm sure removing the stock muffler would be a plus for the engine but I'm not looking for a loud truck.

I hear ya

The stock pipe was removed and replaced w/a 4" pipe before I bought the truck.
Diesels are already loud enough so I'm not looking for it to get louder but just want to help my ride run better and longer. I keep seeing people talk about removing the CAT but didn't see any reasons why.

But if you find that CAT remove kit that would be awesome if you let me know.

Thanks!

But if you are saying you have a 4" pipe...This won't fit !!!! It's for a stock pipe which I believe is 3 1/2 "

The cat alone has very little restriction, onless it's become fooled or plugged. The stock muffler is worse than the cat. I removed mine and keep it and in it's place my B-D Brake mounts in the same space . When I have to smog check my truck next year I will unbolt the brake , put the cat in for test , then replace with the brake . ollllo

I bought the MBRP that had NO provisions for a cat, (it didnt have the bolt on flange) then I added a muffler delete pipe.

Buying a/m is ok...but if you want to save some $$$ and you like spending a little bit of time in a salvage yard; you might want to check this out:

Your turbo will whistle more once the kitty is out of the way. To me it boils down to the same thinking behind the ZooDad...moving more air on the cheap.
