Also, if you look at the upper valance where the e, c, & r are, is that how mercury attached those letters? just welded on some extra plates? or is that someone's install job?

Both Ford and Mercury trucks were assembled and sold new in Canada. Ford also assembled Ford trucks in Canada and sold them in the US of A...and still does today.
Since the MODEL code is F100, the assembly plant code is C and the DSO code is A7, this truck was assembled in Oakville, Ontario Canada, and sold new in the Pacific District of Canada.
C5TZ8190C .. Upper Grille Panel / Fits: 1965/66 FORD F100/700.
If the truck was Blue and White originally, why did the seller repaint it Caribbean Turquoise (COLOR code B) and White?
Because Caribbean Turquoise is a prettier color! I mean, why does anyone repaint their vehicle a different color, especially when trying to sell, they pick one that will sell, and you will always have a high demand for rangoon red (Wasn't there a different red too?), caribbean turquoise, and black on these trucks.
Also notice it has all of the custom cab goodies, the sweep speedo, the (incorrectly chromed, but...) shiny grill, windshield reveal molding, but NO custom cab door script! is it a custom cab clone as well? something tells me the script wouldn't fit on after those wrong mirrors were put on.
Q: Is it have ford or mercury on the paperwork? Thanks, jeff
A: The title shows Mercury.
So whether it originally was a ford or mercury, it doesn't matter because it is officially a mercury now! I'm starting to believe that it is possible that it truly is a merc, and those badges were in bad shape, or were broken, or lost in the restoration process, and you see restored Fords that don't have the badges too! so... who knows... whether it is or it isn't, it's still a nice looking truck.
Because Caribbean Turquoise is a prettier color! This is your opinion, others may not share it.

By the BODY code, it is a Custom Cab.
If the Custom Cab door guards were on this truck originally, it would not have Custom Cab door nameplates.
If the Custom Cab door guards were factory installed...Ford...for some reason did not install the side mouldings.
Parts catalog sez: C3TZ8120966A right & C3TZ8120967A left = Use without side mouldings.
btw: I could type a history of the color green...but..I'd rather not.
Suffice to say that green was not available for certain years, as it had gone out of favor.
