Got an exhaust question. My son is looking at a1999 psd f250. I took at look the only thing that caught my attention was the 5 inch exhaust. The motor seems to be stock no big turbo ,stock injectors. i was wondering if 5 inch will hurt anything,or just be extra loud.
No it won't hurt anything, just a different sound as compared to a 4" system. Yes, it could be beat to hell too. That's something thats kinda tough to tell just from the exhaust though...
Can't be sure, but i checked it over pretty closely. checked for blow by, pulled intake off looked at the turbo wheel.checked gp and gpr. had the front end parts checked at alignment shop.No fifth wheel holes and the reciever hitch inside showed enough rust that i don't think it towed much. tranny fluid clean and no burn smell. owned by a thirty something that must have just liked it loud.

You have checked all the right things. The 5" exhaust may have been installed just for the sake of being part of "The Cannon Club" I helped Greg install his 5" last night it had a deeper growl to it but not much louder IMO, you can hear the turbo spool up better though.
Same here!! Got the 5" because I like the sound. Just because it has an after market anything doesn't mean its beat! It could have been taken well care of and the PO could have put him own touch in it just like some of us here have.
