I've been running the Max control for about a week now. So far so good. Had to replace my Bilstein shocks after I got a bad one up front. Apparently my Bilsteins were a little worn out because I did notice an improvement in ride quality.
Of course that can be said any time you replace a worn out shock with a good one.

That's what I heard too. Of course that didn't help my situation since I ended up with a broke shock that was cupping a tire pretty bad and I had 1000 miles to travel in the upcoming week. The Max-life was available locally at Auto Zoo.
I'll be checking with Autozone about doing the warranty exchange on the Bilsteins through them, but I'm in no hurry now. As long as I get them before these new ones wear out I'm good.
Except I kind of like the silver and black colors of the Gabriel instead of the Bilstein colors.
Do they seem less stiff than the Bilsteins? I like mine when the 5er is hooked up. But empty they are rough.
Too hard to answer Jason. My shocks were worn. Thew new ones ride MUCH better.
You don't notice shocks going bad since it's gradual, but you can easily notice how much better good shocks are when you swap out the bad ones. I think any new shock will ride better than a worn out one, and trying to remember what another good shock felt like for comparison isn't easy.
I'd like to say yes, because some of the bumps I hit every day seem to be less jarring, and I'm really happy with the ride again, but I didn't realize I was unhappy before. My plan is to just change shocks every 50k from now on to be on the safe side. Every shock manufacturer I've found recommends doing this.
I saw this post while I was researchiing Max Controls. I put Max Controls on my truck exactly a year ago. They replaced the stocks and the ride improved a little but as of today I have one blown out for sure and the other is possibly too. I bought a pair of them on Ebay new for aroun $40-$50 so maybe they were bad from the factory but I will never know. I use the truck for plowing so that may have caused the blow out but its another thing Im not sure of. Im open for suggestions if anyone has them for a tougher shock? Im considering the pricey Bilsteins now.
I've had the Max controls (purchased from Advanced Auto Parts) for almost a year now and have been satisfied. My usage is mostly light distance travel, however.
