I have a 2003 F250 6.0l diesel. I just put on 16x10 Mickey Thompson Classic Locks wrapped with 295-75-16 Interco ssm16's. They do rub a bit so i just ordered a set of add a leafs from superlift. Kit just comes with 2 leafs and center pins. With these installed am i going to have to change anything else suspension wise or everything going to be ok? Should i get longer u bolts?
yeah i just got them, are they pretty easy to install? im not a mechanic but im sure i can figure it out.
You will need 4 large C-clamps to assist with this job. Once you take the pressure off by removing the u-bolts and the center pin nut everything will spring apart with a lot of force and you could loose a finger if not carefull. The add-a-leaf probably will go between the stock springs (depending on the length) and it is not real easy to flatten out so you will have to jack the truck up pretty high to have enough room to seperate the stock springs. Good luck.
i did the tuff country 1 inch add a leaf by my self in a couple of hours. it was easy even by my self and they go under the old leafs. do one side at a time and you have to cut off the old spring c clamp because the new spring should have one. also go to ford or a spring shop and get new anti friction pads i found out the hard way and had to replace them after everything was done a few months later. the squeak was driving me nuts
I installed a 1.5" tuff country add a leaf to my truck and went with 315/75/16 bfg at after about 2 months they are now starting to rub more and more. In a couple weeks they will not be on there anymore. I am new to this stuff and think that the best way to gain lift is spring thickness not rearching. Not to mention the horrible squeek!
if your springs arent the x codes then they will sag. i only have the 5.4 and mine were bad but the tuff country did what it said and its been on for a year now and it hasnt sag again. if you have a diesel i could see it doing it again but i would just get the x codes or a real level kit for a diesel

I put a Tuff Country add a leaf on mine, too so I could clear the 315's. I had the bigger tires on for over a year without any rubbing. I ended up putting 285's for towing as the 315's changed the gearing way too much.

My Tuff Country has been on for three years and is still holding up. If it does start to sag and give me trouble I plan on putting a set of front air bags on to hold it up.
Remember rubbing issues are due to many different reasons. Two trucks with the same lift but different wheel offset or different engines can cause one to rub but not the other. Most rubbing issues can be minimized if the correct wheel offset is installed. 99-04 have leaf springs so turning lock to lock can create leaf rub which can be eliminated by adjusting the stops. Most of the rub will be at the lower bumper/valance corner (which can be trimmed) and at the rear of the fender opening/fender insert (which can be pulled back with a hand made bracket)
