Front leaf spring clamps

I just put on my new front add-a-leafs and was wondering if it is neccessary to have leaf spring clamps on since i am having problems finding clamps for 3 inch leaf springs. The clamps on the two main springs are still there that came from factory, but i was just wondering if the add-a-leaf need them too. I also have a 78 f250.

x2 on the not really. Some people actually take them off to get more flex out of the leafs. Just check them periodically, and make sure you torque the u bolts down right.... tight.
