My friends dad had a '73 f100 2x4 with a 390 for a couple years. He sold it 6 years ago, now and then he runs acrossed a part, phones me up and gives it to me! So far I've gotten an oil pan (still in the box!), a Haynes manual, a Chiltons manual, a 4 bbl cast iron intake, a few carbs, an unopened Fel Pro whole engine gasket set (sweet!), and a few oil filters! He said he's got a gauge cluster set somewhere in his garage attic, can't wait til he finds that! I need a new circuit! Not sure if it's compatible with my truck though, guess we'll find out in time!
He told me a few months ago that he had a set of Hooker headers he had on his truck, but hasn't run into them yet- well guess what: he found 'em! He called me up and i picked them up last night! Woohoo! He had them on his '73 for a year or so, and took 'em off cause his starter crapped out and he said it was more trouble than it's worth to keep the headers on due to the fact you have to remove them to get to the starter. Well, buy a new starter! Geez! Luckily for me I bought a new starter last year, so i oughta be good for a while!
Now I gotta get two cherry bomb mufflers (or some other glasspack) and some pipes. Wish the damn snow would melt!
Nice, man! He's right about the starter, it's a bitch to get to with the headers. Let me know how you're gonna route the cable around the passenger side header.
