Smile #'s question

Being's I'm perty much a lurker on these boards,I have a question reguarding #'s on my engine.Block- C2AE-3015-E,Heads are C1AE (not sure of the rest,it's been awhile since I looked under the hood),Performer Manafold w/600 HOLLEY.Is this a STANDARD 390 block from the early 60's?The reason I'm wondering is there's a lot of #'s on various parts(390 swapped into a 63 F-100 4x4 back in the early 70's) on this thing.I know there's some folks here who have alot of expertise reguarding these old motors so I thought I'd ask.I have some plans in my head that I hope to impliment this year, but I'll see what all you got to say.MTIA,Al

#'s question

Most all of the following is a guess, as i can only find info on the heads. I would guess you have either a montage of parts or a std '62 390. Seems to be nothing overly spec tacular about your combo. The intake runners on the older heads are slight larger. the bottoms are the same as the late model heads, but the top of the runner is slighly taller. Allowing for a higher flow rate. It is however said that the higher flow rates may not be that much of an advantage. As the late model heads have a sharper turn into intake valve allowing for a better fuel mix. The two together are probably about the same.

Hope this helps.
