I have a question about swaping in a 5spd behind a 400. It currently has a 4spd and I would like to swap in a zf 5spd. I know I will have to convert it to a hydrulic clutch. I know there is a difference in the distance the flywheel sticks out and I was wondering if anyone knew what modifications needed to be done to the throwout fork. It seems someone did the awile ago in the 73 to 79 forum but I cannot find the link at all.
Thanks
The 351m/400 and 460 bellhousings are the same however the 351w is not the same. I know the 400 and 460 flywheels are positioned at different depths. I know there is a modification that is nessesary to get the throwout bearing to work, I just need to know what it is or if anyone knows where I can find the artical of the guy who did the swap. I cannot find it.
