Guys I have a chance to buy an open box buy on a dvd/gps head unit from Crutchfield. Does anyone have any experience or advice before I make the purchase?
It comes with everything needed to hook it up. It has fully factory warranty also, so it should be returnable if need be. Crutchfield is a reputable company thats the only reason I'm even considering buying an open box buy off the internet.
Call crutchfield on that specific item, or use their online chat. I have bought alot of stuff from them and they are really good about service. They should be able to give you details on that unit or get you to someone who has the info.
Sometimes open boxes also means it was on display at a store. Im not sure if they even have a store anywhere. But I know CarToys does that kinda thing.
If it a reputable business Glenn then I would consider it but what kind of discount is on this unit, warranty too?? If it wasn't substancial (discount) I wouldn't consider it but thats just me, no offense. Like the guys said, I would call them and see what they say, the previous consumer could have opened it for install and it wouldn't work, lots of senarios, good luck..
I bought a couple of items from Crutchfield and they are a good company for sure. Just check their policies on returns on Open Box stuff. I much rather deal with them than most of the dealers on fleabay. JMHO.
